Multiple outlets are now reporting that the flesh on Jason Pierre-Paul's hand was burned off of his palm and fingertips, but the fingers are still intact, which contradicts early false reports.

The full extent is still unknown, as is the status for Pierre-Paul to reporting to Giants camp, which begins at the end of July. ESPN's Adam Schefter has confirmed that the injury is not career threatening.

On Saturday night, JPP sent out two Instagram videos (posted below) that showed him standing outside of a U-Haul truck that he rented for a fireworks show at his South Florida home, that he put on himself. During the fireworks show, a neighbor tweeted out that they feared for the safety of their home.

The timing of the incident will be heavily diagramed as Pierre-Paul and his agent have been lobbying for a longterm deal. The Giants granted Pierre-Paul the one-year franchise tag tender earlier this off-season, worth $14.8 million for the 2015 season.

Pierre-Paul has yet to sign the franchise tag, which has to be resolved by July 15th, according to the NFL deadline. Over the last few months, Pierre-Paul has missed workouts and barely been around the facility, while working out and staying in shape at his home in Florida.

This off-the-field incident is already bringing up memories of the ones that happened in 2012 when wide receiver Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg in New York City.
