The UAlbany women's basketball team throttled Vermont on Saturday afternoon to continue their hot start to the 2015-16 season.

With the win, the Danes are now 11-3 overall. More importantly, they are 2-0 in America East Conference play.

In the win on Saturday, Danes standout Shereesha Richards scored her 2,000th career point. She did it via a putback layup in the second half.

"It feels good, I am so happy I got it and it is a great honor to reach that milestone,” said Richards of earning 2,000 points to UAlbanysports.com. “Coach Abe had me fix my shots, and I just had to settle down in the second half.”

Richards finished the game with 25 points and 15 rebounds.

“I wanted to start crying, I feel like a proud parent,” said UAlbany head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson. “Watching her go through four years and already scoring that many in just the second game in-conference is pretty amazing.  She is so humble and she has a great work ethic and is great, she only cares about the team.”
