With today being the first day of school at Shenendehowa, superstar guard Kevin Huerter officially got his college decision done before the school year started.

On Monday afternoon, Huerter announced he would be attending the University of Maryland in 2016 via his Twitter page.

Huerter turned down scholarship offers from more than 20 schools. He also bypassed his official visits to Notre Dame and Michigan, according to the Times Union.

We brought in Clint Jackson of Rivals.com to break down Huerter's decision. He says that he sees Huerter as a guy who can contribute to Maryland in hist first year but will really show his true talents as he progresses to his sophomore or junior year.

Furthermore, Maryland is in the Big 10 now, so we asked Jackson about how Huerter's game translates to the conference as a whole.

And finally, we asked if the scholarship reductions really impacted Syracuse. Did that cost the Orange a chance at Huerter?
