It was certainly a tough weekend all around as the Siena men's basketball team has its season end in Bridgeport at the MAAC tournament, as well as the UAlbany men as they fell short in the America East tournament.

While both teams were not necessarily projected to get to the finals, both teams had enough talent to certainly make a run. The Siena Saints were able to defeat Manhattan on Friday in overtime by a score of 68-66. On Saturday the Saints were just simply overpowered by the Iona Gaels as they fell by a score of 94-64. The 94 points were the most the Saints had surrendered all season long. Also, from the MAAC tournament, the top-seeded Fairfield Stags fell to St. Peters, setting up a match between Iona and St. Peters for the MAAC title and a trip to the NCAA tournament Monday night.

On Friday UAlbany fell to Stony Brook by a score of 67-61. A fair amount of people felt the Great Danes could make a good run in the America East tournament but Stony Brook had other plans as they stopped the Danes in their tracks.

Finally the Albany Devils and Adirondack Phantoms did battle during this past weekend both from the Times Union Center on Saturday night as the Devils won 5-2. On Sunday the Devils weren't as fortunate as they got into penalty trouble and fell to the Phantoms by a score of 4-3. The Devils and Phantoms are all tied up at 4 wins each in the best of 12 Time Warner Cup series between the Northway rivals.
