After dropping the first game of the Liberty League tournament, the RPI baseball team came back to win the league championship on Saturday by defeating RIT twice.

With the win, RPI became the first team to lose the first game and then win the league tournament. In doing so, the Engineers punched their ticket to the NCAA tournament for the second time in three years.

RPI will head out to the New York Regional in Auburn, NY, to join a loaded 8-team field that includes No. 1 Cortland, Oswego, Amherst and Keystone.

RPI will play Keystone on Wednesday at 4:30 PM.

Head coach Karl Steffen joined Brady Farkas this morning to talk about the Liberty League comeback, the matchup with Keystone, the talent within Section II that makes up his roster, and the great story of RPI star pitcher Sean Conroy.

RPI went 26-15 on the season, compiling an 18-6 record in Liberty League play.
