After tying No. 1 Quinnipiac on Thursday night, the RPI men's hockey team completed the season sweep of arch-rival Union, beating the Dutchmen 5-2 in the Mayors Cup at the Times Union Center.

With the win in the rivalry game, the Engineers are now 13-7-6. Union falls to 9-9-6 with the loss.

The win on Saturday night was in a non-conference tilt, as RPI already defeated Union in both ECAC meetings this season. RPI is in second place in the conference at this point.

RPI scored just 50 seconds into the game on a goal from Lou Nanne but Union tied it less than two minutes later on a goal from Eli Lichtenwald.

But the Engineers took the lead before the period concluded and Union got the equalizer from Ryan Scarfo in the second period.

RPI then scored the next three goals to pull away and get the 5-2 win. The crowd was great as well, as 8485 people turned out to watch the game.
