The RPI Hockey team is getting ready for the ECAC Playoffs this weekend at Houston Field House. The Engineers will play host to Brown in the first round, best-of-three series.

RPI has rebounded from two consecutive losing seasons to post a 16-13-7 overall record, and perhaps one of the reasons for the turnaround has little to do with the actual skating on the ice.

RPI has been working to gain a mental advantage of their opponent by utilizing the training mechanisms of world-renowned sports psychologist and mental conditioning coach Brian Cain.

Cain has worked with several high-profile college and professional athletes, as well as MMA fighter Georges St. Pierre.

We brought in Cain today to ask him how his training works, what he tells RPI and how he's helped change the culture inside the Engineers locker room.

Furthermore, we asked him about Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey and their mental approaches.
