May’s Hometown Hero story is a true must listen and it comes just in time for Memorial Day Weekend.  In the month that we honor and pay tribute to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, we are so proud to award WGNA’s May Hometown Hero to Russell Coonradt from Cohoes.

Russell Coonradt is a Navy combat veteran, a firefighter, an EMT, and he put together and instructs an EMT course that is free for veterans.  He’s humble, he’s thoughtful, and he’s all about getting the job done at any and all cost.  Russell’s nomination was sent to us by his loving and appreciative sister, Danielle who is a former Troy police officer, currently wearing blue up in Lake Placid.  What a family!
