The Miami Dolphins have extended the contract of Quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill signed a six year $96 million extension with $45 million guaranteed per a league source. This contract puts Tannehill in the middle of the pack as far as QB pay goes.

The big story is the $45 million guarantee. For a guy that didn't become a full time QB until his senior year at Texas A&M that's a nice guarantee. On the plus side he's only 26, continues to improve and just had his best year ever under new Offensive Coordinator Bill Lazor Throwing for 4,045 yards, 27 TDs, 12 INTs and 66.4 percent completions.

Tannehill is the first in his draft class to sign an extension. By the way that draft class included Andres Luck and Russell Wilson. Another quarterback that enters this conversation is Eli Manning. Manning is entering the final year of his contract and many are speculating where his contract will land. Will he be up with Ben Roethlisberger or closer to the deal Tannehill just signed? A third option is will the Giants decide at Eli's age it's better to franchise tag him and not commit long term even if it does make Eli a bigger hit to their salary cap.
