While it's easy to have frustrations over C.C. Sabathia's production compared to his contract, the worst of the news is most likely still a year away.

"I hate to put it this way," said SNY's Chris Carlin, to Armen and Levack on 104.5 The Team. "But possibly the biggest issue for the Yankees is as long as [Sabathia] doesn’t end next year on the disabled list with a shoulder injury, specifically shoulder injury, his option vests for 2017 and that’s another $25 million."

Currently, Sabathia is on the 15-day DL with a knee injury, which would still make the Yankees liable for Sabathia's final year of his eight-year, $186 million dollar contract that was signed in 2009.

"It’s funny, as it turns out, A-Rod’s contract might not be the albatross. Most likely, it’s going to be Sabathia’s."

'Armen and Levack' can be heard weekdays from 3-7p ET, on 'Your Home for New York Sports', 104.5 The Team.
