NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula has reached an agreement to buy the Buffalo Bills. The Bills ownership opened up after Ralph Wilson, the franchise's founding owner, passed away in March.

Pegula has been the clear favorite to buy the team after reiterating over and over that he has no intention to move the Bills out of Western New York

The sale amount for the team is still unknown. The last two teams that sold include the Cleveland Browns who sold for approximately $1.05 billion in 2012, and the Miami Dolphins which sold for a record $1.1 billion in 2009.

The NFL has its finance committee meeting next week, and Pegula could be in place as Bills owner as early as the Fall League Meeting in early October.
