We already knew that the Siena men's basketball team would be opening up the 2015-16 season on the road at National Championship game participants Duke and Wisconsin, but on Wednesday, we learned the rest of the Saints non-league schedule.

In addition to Duke (Nov. 13) and Wisconsin (Nov. 15), the Saints will play at a highly competitive Bucknell team on Nov. 24. The Saints will welcome in Loyola (Md.) to the Times Union Center on Nov. 28 before traveling to Cornell on Dec. 1.

Saints head coach Jimmy Patsos coached at Loyola for nine years.

Siena also plays at home against Hofstra on Dec. 9 before taking the floor in the Albany Cup against UAlbany at the TUC on Dec. 12.

The Saints round out the non-league schedule vs. St. Bonaventure (Dec. 22) and at Vermont on Dec. 29.

In addition to Duke and Wisconsin early, the Saints will play either Bryant, Radford, or Prarie View on Nov. 20 and 21st as part of the 2K Classic Benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.

“It’s a schedule that’s going to make us better,” Siena head coach Jimmy Patsos said in the school's release. “It’s a challenging schedule, and it’s a great schedule. To open with Duke and Wisconsin is an honor. I think our fans will enjoy our home non-league games too. There is familiarity with Hofstra and Joe Mihalich coming back, and Loyola returning. Then we have the Franciscan Cup and Albany Cup at home which are both big events for our school and community. I’m hoping fans will make the short trip to cheer us on in the regional rivalry games against Cornell and Vermont too.”
