Saratoga Announces 2016 Meet Dates

We have just entered December, which means that we are getting further and further removed from the beautiful rays of summer. But, we are already excited for summer 2016 as Saraotga announced its biggest dates for the 2016 meet.

The 2016 meet will start on Friday, July 22nd and will last until Labor Day on Sept. 5. The meet again lasts 40 days.

The biggest races of the year are the Whitney (August 6th) and the Travers' Stakes (August 27th).

The Travers' is always a huge event in the area, but I don't know if anything can top last years race, when Triple Crown winner American Pharoah was in 'Toga.

But Pharoah was defeated in the race by Keen Ice.

Regardless, the event drew a huge crowd and you can expect more of the same this season.

Here's to hoping Summer 2016 comes a little quicker. We are all excited for it now even more than we were before.
