Though Jets defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson has added an incident to his already four game suspension, in recent weeks, ESPN's Adam Schefter does not believe it will further affect Richardson this year.

"He's already suspended for the first four games for violating the leagues substance abuse policy, but his new offense is going to have to go through the courts and the league isn’t going to act until that case is settled," said Schefter, with Armen and Levack, on 104.5 The Team.

Richardson was charged two weeks ago for several traffic violations, resisting arrest and having a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his car. Even more disturbing, a 12-year old was in the backseat as Richardson raced at up to 143 miles per hour in an attempt to evade police.

"I could see him missing four games [for this newest incident] next year. So he starts this year suspended four games and then the start of next year and he would be suspended four more games.

The NFL is expected to wait on their own punishment decision until this goes through the legal system and that could take some time.

Among the concerns of Richardson's most recent incident, he failed to inform his team that is happened. The Jets found out through St. Louis media, just like everyone else.

"I don’t know if that’s the biggest concern ... to say he hid it from the team is just one of many concerning things here."

ESPN's Adam Schefter joins Armen and Levack every Monday at 4:45pm on 104.5 The Team, sponsored by Death Wish Coffee.
