Maple Hill graduate Jaime Schultz moved to 8-5 on the season for the AA Montgomery Biscuits (Rays) when he got the win over the Jackson Generals (Mariners) last night.

The former Wildcat went six innings and struck out 10. He ran his Southern-League leading strikeout total to 149 in just 125.1 innings.

We brought in Biscuits' broadcaster Aaron Vargas to talk about Schultz:

1. Has he seen anyone strike out batters at the rate Schultz has in AA?

2. Schultz has 85 walks this season as well; Is he suited to be a starter or a reliever?

You'll be surprised to hear who Vargas compares the former Section II standout to and what is the key to Schultz maintaining a spot as a starter in the system.

Schultz joins Garrett Whitley as Albany natives playing for the Rays system.

Schultz is one of several Capital Region products in affiliated baseball, including Shaker graduate Jeff Hoffman, also in AA for the Rockies.
