Maple Hill graduate Jaime Schultz only had two strikeouts last night, but he's still on top of the Southern League this season in that category.

Schultz now has 139 strikeouts this season for the Montgomery Biscuits, 11 more than the number two on that list. He has those 139 punchouts in 119.1 innings. That's unprecedented.

The hard-throwing righty could be making his way to Tampa Bay in the next few years.

The thing that has plagued Schultz this season is a high walk total. He has issued 81 free passes in those 119.1 innings.

Schultz has made 24 starts for Montgomery this year, but you wonder if that high velocity, coupled with high strikeout and high walk totals, make him a candidate for a reliever at the big league level.

Schultz is 7-5 this season. Yesterday, he went five innings and allowed five earned runs. His ERA is 4.00. He was named to the Southern League All-Star team earlier this season.
