Hard to believe that we are just a week away from Thanksgiving.. And that means that we are just days away from learning which high school football teams are going to play for state championships.

Section II has four teams playing in State Final Four action this weekend: Saratoga (Class AA), Amsterdam (A), Schuyerville (B), and Greenwich (C) are all playing, which gives the Capital Region a serious chance to have a huge presence on Championship weekend.

Today, we brought in Schuyerville football coach John Bowen to talk about his team's matchup with Westlake (3:00, Saturday, Dietz Stadium in Kingston).

Schuyerville is a very, very good team that is predicated on its running game, which is a mix of the wishbone and the flexbone.

The Black Horses are so good because they are so balanced offensively and three players have nine touchdowns or more. But it's also the defense that has played so well, allowing just 81 points on the season.
