The nominee's for the prestigious McDonald's High School All American basketball Game have been announced by the event organizers, and a local Capital Region product finds his name on the short list. Guilderland native Andrew Platek was one of nine players from the state of Massachusetts to be nominated for the annual showcase that will take place March 29th in Chicago. Platek chose to forgo his remaining years at Guilderland as a Dutchman in favor of reclassifying and playing his last two years at Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts. The final All American rosters will be chosen closer to game time, but with a commitment already in the books to a blue blood basketball factory in the University of North Carolina, don't be surprised if Platek is ultimately chosen to play in the historical exhibition game held every spring since the late 1970's.
