In softball, Greenwich got the best of Mechanicville, 7-5, in a Class C semifinal. Sarah Heimbach drilled a grand slam homer to pace the Witches.

Morgan Anderson pitched and batted Hoosic Valley past Albany Academy, 1-0, in the other Class C semifinal game that took 10 innings. Anderson had an RBI single.

A Class A semifinal saw unbeaten South Glens Falls beat Johnstown, 4-2. Trisha Sheperd banged a couple of two-run homers for the 19-0 Bulldogs.

Kelly Donnelly and Caraline Wood each had a triple and single as Averill Park downed Hudson Falls, 8-2.

Erin Wadsworth tossed a two-hitter and slammed a two-run double to lead Ichabod Crane over Cohoes, 6-0, in a Class B semifinal. Chatham beat Greenville, 5-0, in semifinal play.

In Class D semis, Loudonville Christian whipped Germantown, 17-1. Stephanie Zaloom blasted a three-run homer and four RBI while Fort Ann prevailed over Argyle, 8-1.

Erin Buckley collected two hits and scored three runs as Shenendehowa beat Catholic Central, 8-2, in a Class AA semifinal. The Plainsmen are 21-1 this season.

Guilderland blanked Colonie, 6-0. Mallory Harrigan hurled a two-hitter. Taylor Van Eyck and Jess Peck each delivered two-run homers.

Boys lacrosse

Luke Goldstock had six goals and three assists and Lucas Maloney added five goals and an assist to power Niskayuna past Minisink Valley (Section 9), 19-5, to advance to the Class A regional semifinal.

Glens Falls beat Red Hook, 9-7, in a Class C state regional semifinal. Matt Parsons had two goals and four assists and Matt Girard delivered three goals and an assist.

Queensbury walloped Wallkill (Section 9), 18-3, in a Class B regional semifinal. John Countryman led with five goals and two assists.

Girls lacrosse

In Class A final, Shaker knocked off Guilderland, 9-8. Julia Lennon scored the winning goal with about three minutes left. Maddie Devine and Lauren Smith each scored two goals and an assist. Morgan Hardt led Guilderland with three goals.

Emma Morrissey put together four goals and an assist as Queensbury downed Burnt Hills, 12-8, in the Class B final. Jordyn Godfrey led the Spartans with two goals and two assists.

Albany Academy for Girls edged past Glens Falls, 9-5. Emma Malicki accounted for three goals on the Academy side.

Baseball

Columbia edged past Suburban Council rival Guilderland, 2-1, in the Class AA semifinals. Fort Ann squeaked by Salem, 1-0, in the Class D final. Devon Heydrick scored the game's only run.
