Shaker High School graduate Jeff Hoffman (Rockies) and Maple Hill graduate Jaime Schultz (Rays) are both just one step away from the Major Leagues. Both pitchers are also turning some serious heads in AAA, and now, they need the help of the Capital Region.

You can vote up to 25 times to send Hoffman and Schultz to the AAA all-star game. Unlike when voting for the Major League All-Star Game, you can actually vote for pitchers. You can vote here.

Schultz is 4-2 for the Durham Bulls with a 2.87 ERA. He's continued his blistering strikeout rate with 65 in 59.2 innings. He also has 27 walks, but his control has gotten better. He's gone at least six innings in six starts this season and is coming off a six-inning, 2-hit performance against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders (Yankees) last night.

Hoffman is 2-3 in Albuquerque with a 2.67 ERA. He has 55 strikeouts in 60 innings. I expect him to be up soon with the Rockies.

But still, vote for the local talent to go to the AAA All-Star Game!
