Serena Williams Rolls at US Open
Serena Williams made her first match at this years US Open look easy. She is well on her way to her fourth US Open championship and 14th grand slam title in total.
The last time Serena Williams was playing at the US Open it was 2009, and things got pretty ugly between her and a line judge. Williams screamed at the judge after they called her for a foot-fault that ended her semi final match. Yesterday she was back in action at Flushing Meadows in New York City, and things went much better for her.
She rolled to a win over 54th ranked Bojana Javonovski, 6-1,6-1. Serena won in straight sets and after the match Serena said that the now famous incident was very far from her mind.
If anything, I thought, Wow, I’m back. I haven’t played in a long time. I’m telling you: Out of sight, out of mind for me
The second day of the US Open wasn’t as good to French Open champion Li Na, who was eliminated in the first round for the second consecutive time.
