Kevin Huerter had 20 points, including a perfect 14-14 at the foul line, as Shenendehowa (12-0) stayed unbeaten by topping previously unbeaten Guilderland (10-1) by a score of 56-43 on Tuesday night in Clifton Park.

The game, which pitted two of the top teams in Section II, was supposed to feature Huerter against Dutchmen star Andrew Platek, but the Plainsmen defense was able to suffocate Platek and hold him to a career-low five points.

Platek had gone for 30 points on four different occasions and had surpassed 40 points once.

The sell-out crowd of 1,500 people provided an electric environment. The energy in the gym was apparent, as neither team was able to really get in a rhythm offensively. Huerter did his damage at the foul line, and Shen didn't hit one three-pointer on the night.

Thomas Huerter and Brandon Fischer contributed 12 points to the Plainsmen scoring effort, and senior guard Drew Lewis did a masterful job shadowing Platek.
