Shenendehowa's Alex Kinkaid (eClub Capital District) shot two rounds of 74 for 148 to finish in a fifth place tie in the New York State Junior Championship at Mark Twain Golf Course (Elmira).

Gavin Hall (Mendon GC) started the second round trailing Art Griffin (Lake Placid Club) by three strokes, but played consistent golf and posted 70 while Griffin struggled with 75. In the end, Hall earned the title with 71-70-141 and Griffin had 68-75-143.

Davis Jensen (Schuyler Meadows) 78-76-154 and Josh Fonda (Pine Brook GC) 77-77-154 were T17. Next in line was 25. Matthew Parrottino (Albany CC) 77-79-156, T35 Calvin Beckwith (McGregor Links) 82-78-160, T44 Jeff Palmerino (Colonie G&CC) 81-81-162, 56. Clark Leonelli (Airway Meadows GC) 80-85-165, T57 Bobby McCarthy (Van Patten) 83-83-166, T62 Derrick Brown (Schenectady Muni) 92-79-171, T66 Hunter Donovan (Wolferts Roost) 79-95-174, and T70 Cody Husek (Fox Run) 93-84-177.

The junior division includes golfers 15-17 years old.

 

Boys Division (14 and under)

Alec Bard (Cedar Lake Club) play exceptionally well in the second round firing a 67 and finish on top with 147. It marks Bard's second championship in a row.

Danny Lapp (Hillendale GC) carded a 77 on Wednesday and occupied second with 153, six strokes off the pace.

Tanner Donovan (Wolferts Roost) scored 85-83-168 for T17. Alex Bond (Amsterdam Muni) shot 84-86-170 to place 19th. Kyle Adams (The Edison Club) was right behind at 90-88-178 to finish 22nd and Patrick Hayes (Schuyler Meadows) carded 93-86-179 for 23rd.

Connor Adams (The Edison Club) posted 92-91-183 for T26 while Grayson DeMarco (Glens Falls CC) 91-93-184 and Tyler Simpson (Van Patten) 96-89-185 finished 28th and 29th, respectively.

 

Girls Division

After finishing second the last two years, Danielle Fuss (Oak Hill CC) topped the girls division field this time around.

She shot 77-74-151 and nosed out Larissa Carter (Owasco CC) 78-77-155 by four strokes.

Grace Ziamandanis (Albany CC) took 10th with 83-81-164. Madison Braman (Shaker Ridge) delivered 91-86-177 for T22 and Kayla Szekely (Airway Meadows) posted a pair of 98s for 196 and T33.
