After yet another close loss late in the 4th quarter, the Giants have no control over their playoff hopes.  Is it time for them to start thinking about what they need to do to improve in the off-season?

Simply put, yes.  This season is most-likely over.  With the Redskins essentially a win away from clinching the division should they defeat the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday and the absence of star WR Odell Beckham Jr. in a "must-win" game against the Minnesota Vikings, the odds are not in the Giants favor.

The Giants need to do something to get this team back on the right track.  Two consecutive good drafts have helped, but this team is lacking in very important positions, including over on the sideline.

Changes are going to be made this off-season.  Head coach Tom Coughlin is on the hot seat after a number of losing seasons.  Should Sean Payton be available, don't be surprised if the Giants chose to move in a different direction from Coughlin.  Offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo is another option, yet not as popular.

The real issue with the Giants is talent and depth.  This team needs talent in certain positions.  The offensive and defensive line are at the top of the list along with linebacker and running back.  These are all areas of need that we expect them to hit in the draft, but maybe it is free agency where they should focus.  This young team has shown us how badly they need a veteran influence on this team (Look at what transpired this week).  Expect the Giants to bring in someone to be that vocal leader that this team desperately needs.

The off-season starts now for the Giants.  With Eli Manning getting older, it is crucial that the Giants capitalize on the rest of his career.
