The Philadelphia Eagles have released speed demon WR DeSean Jackson after failing to trade him. NJ.com reported today that the Eagles reasoning for releasing the pro bowl wide out was tied to his involvement with LA gangs. Jackson quickly put that story to bed saying  the report is “reckless and irresponsible.”.

Jackson is coming off his career-best season in Philadelphia, leading the team with 82 catches for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns.

The New York Jets have not been shy about their scouting of another wide receiver to match up with newly added Eric Decker. The team has been “looking at a number of players, including DeSean,” owner Woody Johnson said Sunday.

This seems like it could be the perfect fit for the Jets with Eric Deckers  6'4 stature, and Jackson's speed. Not to mention the New York Jets leader in receptions last season was Jeremey Kerley with 43. This could also have a very big impact on the quarterback competition between 2nd year Geno Smith and Mike Vick. Vick and Jackson had a very good stint with one another the last few seasons with the Eagles and could be the deciding factor on Jackson's future.

Do you think the New York Jets should sign Desean Jackson?
