Don't worry, Capital Region hoop fans, the local basketball season is not over! While neither Siena or UAlbany made the NCAA Tournament, both have accepted invitations to the College Basketball Invitational (CBI).

Siena won the CBI two years ago when they beat Fresno State.

Siena will open play on Tuesday night when they host Morehead State at the Times Union Center. UAlbany will open play on Wednesday night at Ohio University.

The Saints bowed out in the semifinals of the MAAC Tournament, losing to eventual conference champion Iona. UAlbany lost in the quarterfinals of the America East tournament in an upset against Hartford. The Danes were the second seed in the tournament.

The way the bracket looks, the teams could potentially meet in the CBI semifinals, but the bracket gets reseeded at some point so it's no guarantee.

Regardless of what happens, it's good to just see the teams get after it one more time -- at least.
