A popular weekend of college basketball, known as BracketBusters weekend, commences this season on February 23rd and 24th. In this, the final year of the event, Siena will be playing Radford in a home game.

The struggling Saints will go way out of conference for their BracketBusters game, taking on Radford from the Big South. The Saints' only chance for a most unlikely NCAA tournament bid is to win the MAAC tournament. This will be Siena's eighth straight BracketBusters game. So far Siena is 4-3 in those games. Radford is currently 10-14 on the season and 4-6 in the the Big South conference play in the league's northern division.

These two teams have a brief history with two games between the two, both won by Siena. This contest will be played at the Times Union Center at noon on Sunday, February 24th.

For many mid - major teams this BracketBusters weekend is used to showcase what these hardly seen on the national stage teams can do and to show the NCAA Tournament selection committee teams that aren't on ESPN or CBS TV at all if ever. Siena has used this game to propel itself into the minds of the committee when it comes time to pick the at large berths. Many think Butler's program has been a prime beneficiary of the BracketBusters game to showcase their home court and quality of teams. VCU also has benefited to name another.

However this will be the final season scheduled right now for BracketBusters weekend, as the inclusion of more and more teams has tapered interest in the event.
