Forget the slow starts that have troubled Siena much of the season. This time it was a bad finish that did them in Friday at Loyola.

Hanging tough against the defending MAAC champs till the end Siena was within 3 at the half and actually took a brief lead at 37-36 with just over 10 minutes left but were then outscored 26-15 and lost 63-51.

Siena was again led by O.D. Anosike who put up twin 16's in scoring and rebounding. However Anosike was no match for Loyola's Erik Etherly who fired in 25 big points, a new career high. The Greyhounds also got the 1st ever double double from senior guard  Robert Olsen ( 11 points-10 rebounds).

Loyola upped their record to 17-9 overall and a solid 9-4 in the conference while Siena fell to 6-18 overall and 4-9 in the MAAC.

Siena will get a chance to get back in the winning column when they tangle with Saint Peters on the road Sunday afternoon at 2:00 P.M.  The Peacocks are only 1 of 2 teams trailing Siena in the conference standinds.
