Welcome back Rakeem Brookins. Out for the past year plus, Brookins returned in a big way and Siena returned to the win column in NUCDF classic with a come from behind 56-52 win over Northern Kentucky.

Brookins missed last season with a back injury and then missed the first three games this year with a suspension for breaking an athletic department rule started and scored the winning points for the Saints.

Brookins and back court mate Evan Hymes led the way. Hymes hit the last two free throws for the final score, two of his game high 22 points. Brookins hit one free throw to tie the game at 52 then hit a huge bucket for the winning points with 3.7 seconds left, part of his 13 point evening. O.D. Anosike who is usually the leading man had a solid all around ball game with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Brookins attempted five three point shots. His first was an air ball, the next two front rimmed showing nerves and rust at the same time. He made his final two long shots.

Siena struggled early against winless Northern Kentucky (now 0-3) trailing most of the first half and by as many as seven points. Siena finishes up the tournament by playing the host San Diego Torreros on Sunday.
