Siena sophomore Rakeem Brookins reinjured his back in Sunday’s loss at Maine and will be out of the active rotation for at least a month. The Siena sports medicine staff has targeted the LaSalle game on December 29 as the soonest game Brookins could return.

Brookins missed all of last season with herniated and bulging disks in his back.

An MRI taken earlier this week revealed protruding disks at L-3, L-4 and L-5. The injury will be treated with aggressive rehab, and team doctors are optimistic Brookins will return this season.
