You have to wonder if the ax is starting to swing a bit on Siena head coach Mitch Buonaguro. The Siena coach must be feeling the heat after his Saints got clobbered at home Saturday night by the La Salle Explorers  80-52.

For the first time in school history the Saints start 0-5 at home. They lost for the ninth straight time overall. These are not the kind of numbers that give coaches job security.

This was never really a ball game. La Salle, a high scoring team from the Atlantic 10 conference bombed their way to a 15 point lead at the half then slammed the door shut by adding another 13 points to their lead in the second stanza. The Explorers never trailed in the entire ball game.

Ramon Gallaway hit six long balls on his way to a spiffy 22 point game. Tyreek Duren had 13 points. D. J. Peterson hit all three of his three ball shots and finished with 11. Siena was led in their feeble effort by O.D. Anosike who tallied 14 points and grabbed 16 boards. Rakeem Brookins added 10 for the now 2-11 Saints. La Salle is a solid 9-2.

Siena will look to break this latest losing skid when they open conference play on January 4 at home in a conference game against Iona.
