After week’s of uncertainty and controversy, Siena is set to hire a new men’s basketball head coach. Our Rodger Wyland broke the news Thursday afternoon. Jamion Christian is a 36-year old graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s who has led his alma mater to two NCAA Tournament appearances; in 2014 and 2017.

Prior to becoming the head coach at The Mount, Christian was an assistant with William and Mary and VCU. In his 6 seasons with Mount Saint Mary’s, Christian amassed a 101-95 record.

For the past three days, Christian’s name not only entered the fray, but was at the top of Siena’s list. While UAlbany’s Will Brown garnered plenty of deserved attention, he never interviewed for the job.
