Led by a career high tying 30 points by Evan Hymes the Siena Saints almost pulled off a big upset Friday night at the Times Union Center but in the end too much Juan'ya Green helped Niagara escape with a 78-69 win.

Green just missed a triple double finishing with 10 points, 11 assists and 9 rebounds. It was his 4 free throws at the end of the ballgame that iced the Purple Aces 5th straight win and improved their MAAC conference record to 8-1.

Siena hung around at the half trailing by a bucket 42-40. Niagara however jumped that lead to an even dozen before stubborn Siena started to crawl back in the game. O.D. Anosike's  slam sliced the lead to 1 with just over 2 minutes left. Siena fell short of the upset when Niagara nailed the big free throws at the conclusion.

Hymes played the full 40 minutes and tied his career high. He was in top notch form on this cold Friday night in Downtown Albany. Hymes hit 7 of 11 shots from the floor including 4 of 5 from long ball territory and was near perfect from the charity stripe nailing 12 of 13. Onesike finished with 8 points and 10 boards.

Siena falls to 4-16 overall and 2-7 in conference play. If the Saints are to break this latest losing skid which now stands at 3 they better make some hay on Sunday when they visit the Red Fox's of Marist who also is 2-7 in the MAAC
