The in-season awards continue to pile up for the Siena Saints volleyball team.

Saints player Taylor Akana was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference player of the week for the third time in her career. The preseason MAAC player of the year led the Saints to league wins over Rider University and Loyola.

Akana was so brilliant over the weekend it has been called one for the history books. In the victory over the Greyhounds she finished with 22 kills and no errors in 39 attacks on the outside, leading the Saints to their most efficient offensive output in five years.

The Junior, from Hawaii posted eight more kills than any other player and added 11 digs.

The next day, Sunday against Rider, Akana was back at her brilliance, ringing up her 13th double double of the season with ten kills and 14 digs. For the stat geeks out there, on the week, Akana recorded an average of 4.0 kills, 3.12 digs, 3.0 service aces, and a .983 reception percentage and only one error in 60 serve receives.

Next up for the Saints is Iona on Wednesday night.
