After a great regular season, Siena men's soccer coach Gareth Elliot was named MAAC coach of the year.

Elliot's coach of the year honor is the first for the Siena soccer program. It wasn't the only award the Saints won. Sindre Ek was tabbed as the MAAC offensive player of the year. Ek was also named to the conference's first team. In addition teammate James Beeston was named to the first team in the MAAC as well.

Saints center back Falko Friedrich was named to the MAAC second team as was fellow center back Opalka. Siena also had a few players named to the MAAC all rookie team. Matt Needham, Tom Allen, and Damian Liesemann all got those honors.

In addition to it being the first coach of the year honors for the program, the multiple first team awards marked a first in program history.

Elliot's honor comes on the heels of a 10-6 record and a 6-1 MAAC conference record. The final two games were cancelled due to hurricane Sandy. The 10 wins were the second most in program history. Siena is the second seed in the conference tournament.
