Siena Volleyball Gets Another Award

Lots of awards coming Siena College's way lately. The newest is player of the week in volleyball.

This honor goes to Sarah Sivertson who was named MAAC player of the week after leading her team to an unbeaten mark over the last week. The lady Saints won both their matches this week including a victory over pre-season conference favorite Fairfield.

The Siena setter, from Tyler, Texas averaged 11.9 assists and 2.2 digs for the week. In the Fairfield game she led the team with 43 assists and a whopping 12 digs. She also led the club with 12 assists in a big win over Saint Peters.

Even in defeat Sivertson was spectacular. In a tough 5 set loss to Manhattan College, Sivertson tallied 61 assists and a team high  7 block assists and added in 8 digs.

Next up for Sivertson and her lady Saints is a local tangle against UAlbany this coming Thursday. The game will be televised on Time Warner Cable as well starting at 7.05 pm...
