Another day without NHL hockey has gone by. Thank you Gary Bettman. NOT! Some programmers are not standing by waiting for the NHL to come back either.

Take satellite provider Sirius/XM and their NHL channel for example. Rather then sit by with just talk programming or old games Sirius/XM has been aggressive in airing AHL games and now with the season cancelled at least through the end of December more games have been added.

In all 21 games have been added for coverage. A whole spectrum of teams will be featured. Several double headers are on tap for the network. The added coverage starts on December 11th when Bridgeport visits Portland. From December 14th through the 16th six games will be aired via three double dips featuring Binghamton, Wilkes-Barre, Texas, Abbotsford, Worcester, Hershey, Springfield, Oklahoma City, Houston, and Manchester.

For those wondering about our local club the Albany Devils do have one added game to the play by play schedule, that being on December 28th when the Devils host the Binghamton Senators at 7:05 p.m.

As for a resolution to the NHL lockout, yeah, don't hold your breath. The sides are scheduled to have some contact on Wednesday December 12th but hopes right now aren't exactly brimming that the NHL'sters will get back on the ice anytime soon.
