Six area basketball teams kept their season alive in regional play on Saturday.

In boys, CBA defeated Utica Proctor 68-60, in Class AA semifinals at Hudson Valley Community College.Christian Leppanen led with 20 points while Joe Krong and Nate Robinson added 12 and 10, respectively.

CBA is now 21-2 this season.

Mechanicville got the best of St. Lawrence (Section X), 56-40, at SUNY Canton in Class C action.

Jordan McBride popped in 22 points to pace the Red Raiders. Ryan McBride had 14 and Sam DeCelle chipped in with 11. Mechanicville upped its record to 19-5.

Watervliet (22-1) made easy work of Plattsburgh (Section VII), 72-40, on the Class B scene at HVCC. Antoine Johnson scored 20 points, Jordan Gleason delivered 17 while Griffin Kelly and Tyler McLeod added 15 and 13, respectively.

Unfortunately, Scotia (17-5) was eliminated by a good Jamesville-DeWitt squad, 58-45, in Class A competition, also at HVCC. Alex Sausville tallied 12 points for the Tartans while Joe Cremo added 10. Jamesville-DeWitt is the state's top-ranked A school.

In girls regional play, Averill Park (17-5) downed Jamesville-DeWitt, 46-40, in the Class A. Julia Mai and Bridget Carney scored 16 and 10 points, respectively for the Warriors.

Cassidy Chapko put together 20 points as Hoosic Valley beat Tupper Lake, 60-18, in Class C. It marked the 16th straight win for Hoosic Valley, now 22-1 this season.

Saranac (22-0, Section VII) beat Watervliet, 45-33, in Class B. Ailayia Demand led with 11 points and Mikayla DeGuire had 10 for the Cannoneers, 22-1.

In Class AA, Cicero-North Syracuse turned away Colonie, 58-39. Ashley Loggins paced Colonie pumping in 17 points.

Brianna Stewart had a big game for the winners with 28 points. Colonie ends with a 20-3 record.

Jacquelyn Miller delivered 16 points to propel Argyle (21-3) past Indian Lake/Long Lake, 47-21, in Class D regional play.

PIttsford ended Saratoga's season, 3-2 in overtime, to advance in the state Division I ice hockey tournament. The regional semifinal was played at Utica Memorial Auditorium.

Matt Klingbeil and Tyler Bullard supplied the goals for Saratoga.

In boys volleyball regional finals, Ichabod Crane (21-1) brought home the Class B title beating Vernon-Verona-Sherrill (Section III), 25-20, 25-18, 26-24.

In Class C, Coxsackie-Athens lost to Mt. Markham (Section III), 21-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-12 and 25-20.
