This Saturday, May 12th 9:30 am at Shenendehowa High school the Special Olympics Regional Summer games begin. This is an amazing chance to see athletes that truly compete for the love of the game and you could even volunteer to help.

There will be nearly 500 athletes competing for victory and all around good times! I strongly recommend you stop by show support and possibly help out. The amount of joy you'll get will far out weigh the work behind timing an event or whatever easy task would truly help the athletes enjoy their day.

Finally I'll leave you with the Oath of the games to truly put the meaning of the games:

LET ME WIN…BUT IF I CANNOT WIN…LET ME BE BRAVE IN THE ATTEMPT!!!!!

Also this is a special year as the State Summer Games will be right here in the Capital Region. Siena College will host the games June 15th through the 17th.
