La Salle graduate JP Sportman continues to hit well for the Stockton Ports, California League affiliate of the Oakland Athletics.

Sportman went 2-3 with a homer, double, and three RBIs in the Ports 11-2 win over Lancaster on Monday. He's now hitting .297 for the season.

He's spent most of the year hitting in the leadoff spot, but was hitting ninth on Monday as A's outfielder Coco Crisp hit leadoff on a rehab assignment.

Interestingly enough, when we spoke to Sportman at the outset of Spring Training, he said that Crisp was the guy he most wanted to meet and talk with.

Shenendehowa graduate Branden Cogswell went 0-3 in the game. He's now hitting .256 for the year.

The Lancaster Jethawks are the Astros affiliate, and is where several former Tri-City ValleyCats play, including sluggers AJ Reed, JD Davis, Marc Wik, Blaine Sims, Troy Scribner, and Ronnie Mitchell.

Stockton is now 12-13 on the season.
