The Spurs made 19 of their first 21 shots and fired at a 76-percent clip in the best-shooting half in NBA Finals history. Kawhi Leonard hit his first six shots while scoring 18 of his career-high 29 points. Leonard had been held to just 18 points over the first two games of the series.

Danny Green also had a strong first half, scoring 13 points on 6 of 6 from the floor.

San Antonio also was 7-for-10 from 3-point range in taking a 71-50 lead into halftime. Green and Parker both finished with 15 points, while Tim Duncan added 14 points and a team-high six rebounds.

The Heat eventually went on a 10-0 run late in the third quarter to pull within 81-74. But they couldn't get any closer the rest of the way as Miami ended a playoff team-record 11-game home winning streak that began with a loss to the Spurs in Game 1 of last year's finals.

Dwyane Wade helped the Heat close the gap by scoring 16 of his 22 points in the second half. LeBron James also finished with 22 points, just six coming after intermission. Rashard Lewis was the only other Heat starter to score in double digits, providing 14 points.

Game 4 is Thursday in Miami.
