On Monday evening David Stern spoke to reporters after a bargaining meeting and announced that the first two weeks of the NBA regular season would be cancelled.

While speaking with reporters, Stern had some choice things to say regarding the state of the negotiations.

We have a gulf that separates us. With every day that goes by, there will be further reductions on what's left of the season. We can't get over the system hurdles...    -NBA Commissioner David Stern-

The 2011-2012 at this point looks to be in jeopardy as the season begins to official dwindle away. This lockout seems to be much more of a struggle between players and owners than the NFL lockout. At least the NFL got to settle their differences, have a training camp and play a full regular season schedule. Now that two weeks are lost, this seems to hit really hard on the state of the labor talks.
