Sitting at 20-12 and in first place in the National League East, it's already been an exciting first month and a half for the New York Mets and their fans.

Well today, it gets a little more exciting as top prospect Noah Syndergaard makes his major league debut in Chicago against the Cubs.

Jeff Paternostro, a lead contributor to the Mets' blog, Amazin' Avenue, joined our Brady Farkas today to break down Syndergaard's debut, the excitement level from the fans, and what we can expect from him stuff-wise.

Syndergaard is part of the "Big 3" that Met fans have been pointing to for years (Matt Harvey, Zack Wheeler), so we asked Paternostro if this debut felt incomplete with Wheeler sidelined for the year.

And finally, with all the young prospects getting the hype, let's not forget the consistency of Bartolo Colon. He's 6-1 and owns a 40:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. THAT"s unreal.

"Anyone who doesn't like Bartolo Colon doesn't like baseball, America, apple pie, all that good stuff," Paternostro said.
