Syracuse Beats Georgetown In OT 64-61
A big night for Syracuse as they beat their Big East rival Georgetown in an overtime thriller. That win also propels coach Jim Boeheim past Dean Smith in Division I wins.
#11 Georgetown was looking for an upset last night as the entered the Carrier Dome. The #2 team in the country was getting out rebounded by the Hoyas, and it looked like this one may get away from them. The Orange wouldn’t fall easy, and battled back to send the game into overtime.
That’s where Syracuse would get the best of Georgetown, Final score 64-61. It was a big night for Kris Joseph who knocked down 29 points for Cuse. That is win number 880 for Jim Boeheim. He is now #3 in wins for Division I basketball. He passed Dean Smith and now sits behind Bob Knight and current Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
