I haven't seen Producer Goz yet this morning, but I'm expecting that he'll be very excited...

The Syracuse Orange basketball team opened its season with an exhibition throttling of LeMoyne on Monday, winning 97-58.

'Cuse put five players in double-figures in the contest, including getting 21 from Michael Gbinije.

They also got 15 from Dajuan Coleman.

LeMoyne, clearly outclassed athletically, had no answer for the dreaded Syracuse zone defense. But that's OK, LeMoyne is preparing for a Division II schedule and just playing Syracuse is good for the program.

A local connection on the Dolphins? Shen graduate (2015) Brandon Fischer saw seven minutes of action. Not bad for a freshman playing in the Carrier Dome. He scored 0 points on 0-1 shooting and totaled one rebound.

It's a good learning experience for the big man who was a valuable part of Shen's state championship team this past season.

Syracuse opens its regular season on Nov. 13 against Lehigh.
