Former Syracuse Orange star may be on course to win an NBA Title in 2016. After four years of playing for a Hall fame coach, former Syracuse center Rakeem Christmas will soon be playing with a soon to be Hall of Fame player. Christmas was drafted 36th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves but was later dealt to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Christmas will now be a part of a squad led by LeBron James, that was just two wins shy of winning an NBA championship. A Syracuse basketball alum has not competed in the NBA Finals since Marty Byrnes in 1980. Christmas is a 6'9' center who averaged 17.5 points and 9.1 rebounds for the Orange last season.  The first senior selected in the second round of the NBA Draft, Christmas was voted ACC Most Improved Player, Co-Defensive Player of the Year, First Team and All Defensive Team.  With such a unique last name like Christmas, the former Syracuse Orange big man wore the number matching the December holiday (25). And yes, that number is currently open for the Cavaliers.
