Well. It wasn't pretty, but after everything that was the New York Giants' 2011 season, they emerge NFC East Championships and will stand opposite the Atlanta Falcons in this weekend's opening of the NFL playoffs.
In a week 17 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants needed a win to secure an NFC East Championship, a playoff spot, and a season ending that wasn't a crushing disappointment. They'd get that win in resounding fashion, a 31-14 shellacking of Romo and the Boys.
Bragging rights. A possible playoff spot. Pride. All go to the Giants and for us Jet fans and the team itself it's hope next year is better. Yes I know the Jets are mathmatically alive but let's be honest it isn't happening. Let's be extremely honest and say the Giants aren't that good either...
IT'S A FESTIVUS MIRACLE! The Giants defense - much maligned and mostly meager - came to play today for the first time all season. They lead the G-Men to a 29-14 triumph over the Jets.

Following last Sunday’s unspeakably important win in Dallas, the Giants, with their destiny firmly in their own control, come home to face the hapless Redskins. An easy win that keeps the G-Men on track to win the NFC-East? C’mon son. Have you learned nothing? Such a game doesn’t exist.
It was as great a game as you'll ever see (overstatement). It was one of the most brilliant displays of quarterbacking brilliance as has ever been witnessed (dramatic overstatement). It was as important a regular season win as there can be (enormous overstat- No. That one seems just about right). 37-34 Giants. Insane.
Following last week's valiant, albeit unsuccessful, effort against the Packers, the Giants will travel to Dallas and look to right the ship against the Cowboys.
In a game in which they figured to be massively overmatched, the Giants fought hard - for the first time in weeks - and took the undefeated Packers down to the final play.
