The forecast calls for the temperatures on Monday to be in the upper 60's! It seems that everything that moves has spring fever, including this pair of horses.

You may remember when Saratoga Springs had beautifully painted fiberglass horses throughout the city or the giant painted fiberglass ballet slipper. The next activity that is aimed at bringing the city together has the beauty of the horses and a ballet slipper but with an added twist and a fun treasure hunt.

It hasn't been an easy go in the past ten years for one legendary restaurant in Saratoga that depends on the Saratoga Race Course season. Now under new management and hiring a talented chef, Siro's will be opening this summer for the track season.

Saturday's Kentucky Derby will be interesting to watch for people in the Capital Region. Not only is it the biggest horserace of the season, but there are a couple of local ties to the "Run For The Roses". One is a horse and the other is a trainer.

One of my first jobs was working at the Saratoga Race Course when I was sixteen. Not only did I get a job there, but there were also many of my teachers that also worked at the track during the summer. If you are interested, NYRA is holding a job fair on June 11th and 12th.

Saratoga Track season has once again blessed the Summer calendar with its presence.

It’s just about that time.  Post time (and party time?).  Time for (enchanted mornings?) the most exciting afternoon in horse racing.  Time for comically large floppy hats, mint juleps and some mile and a quarter racing.  That’s right, it’s Kentucky Derby time and I for one, am pretty excited.
