Derek Jeter Goes Back On Disabled List

During his 2013 season debut last Thursday, Yankees captain Derek Jeter seemed to be playing well as the designated hitter, until he was suddenly pulled for a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the 8th inning. After the game, we learned that Jeter felt something during his final at-bat and took a precautionary MRI, which he acted very nonchalant about during his post-game press conference.

A Public Confession: I Can’t Watch Baseball On TV Anymore!

As I have gone through early adulthood and now sit at 25 years old, I have discovered a number of things: my regretful inability to grow meaningful facial hair, my reestablished love for the NHL and my tremendous disdain for New York State politicians (just read my recent articles about Mixed Martial Arts as a reference point). However, the greatest of these observations is the one I have decided to address in this article: my growing disinterest for watching Major League Baseball games on television.

Mike Lindsley’s Top 5 Most Beloved Yankees Of All-Time

Picking greatest Yankees in any category is like splitting hairs or flipping a coin or picking the most ripe apple in the bunch during the months of September and October in the Northeast.  How about the most beloved Yankee of all-time?  Just as tough as the next question when regarding the pinstripes, but I have narrowed it (I think) down to a Top 5.  Enjoy.

Matt Harvey Should Plan on Leaving Mets

David Wright made the unbelievable mistake of believing Mets brass and Sandy Alderson that this ship in Queens would turn around and head down the right waters.  And so, Wright agreed to stay for 14 years and $192 million.  Great contract.  Great money.  He stays as the face of the franchise.  Wright still lives in the greatest city of them all.  But one of the best players in the game won't be seeing many playoff appearances, and that is where players separate their careers from others in the annals of baseball and sports.

Yankees Sweep Cleveland With 6-4 Victory

After a very difficult week against the Mets and Red Sox that garnered only 1 win out of 7 games, the Yankees entered this week determined to bounce back, and they did exactly that with a 3-game sweep of the Cleveland Indians to wrap up their 8-game home-stand. Led by a complete game performance from CC Sabathia, the Yankees took the final game 6-4 earlier this afternoon and now head to the West Coast for a week and a half.

Yankees Lose Again To Mets, Look To Avoid Sweep Tonight

After spending the last two weeks at or near the top of the American League East, the New York Yankees have really gone and outdone themselves during this four-game losing streak. Last night, the Mets came into Yankee Stadium and didn't miss a beat from the previous two nights, taking out the Yankees by a score of 9-4.

Yankees Look To Keep Creating Separation In AL East

Entering last weekend, the New York Yankees sat atop the American League East to begin a crucial stretch in this young 2013 season, with 12 of their next 16 games against all 4 divisional foes. The team started with two convincing wins on Friday and Saturday against the Blue Jays, only to see Mother Nature postpone the potential sweep on Sunday. So with just 5 games of separation from Boston, Tampa Bay and Baltimore (all of which have records over .500), it was time for the Yankees to start an 8-game road trip - the first 6 taking place against the Orioles and Rays.

Todd Helton Is A Hall of Famer

With the Yankees recently having played in Colorado, one of the great baseball players of the last two decades (save 2008, 2010 and 2012, but everyone has bad or injured years over the course of a career) wasn't talked about much again.  He has been underrated through the years.  Why?  Who knows?  But Todd Helton is a future Hall of Famer.
