Canajoharie High School girls varsity basketball coach Marie Stahler has stepped down after 10 years and two Western Athletic Conference championships.
The Section II Class A girls basketball championship should be a dandy. Scotia-Glenville downed Holy Names, 51-35, Tuesday night at Colonie High School. Monica Compton and Cassie Broadhead topped the Tartans scoring parade with 21 and 17 points, respectively.
The Watervliet boys and girls basketball programs took the spotlight earning top seeds at Wednesday's Section II Basketball Tournament pairings meeting at Saratoga Springs. Watervliet is the Class B top seed for the boys and will host the Corinth/Ichabod Crane winner on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 7:30 p.m.
Linebacker Dylan Wydronkowski of Burnt Hills was named to the Class A first team defense of the New York State Sportswriters Association football team announced on Wednesday.
